SlimSocial for Facebook
SlimSocial for Facebook is a lightweight and customizable alternative to the official Facebook app. It was originally created in 2015 as a project to explore Android app development, but it was put on hold due to university and work commitments.
Recently, I updated the app with a new codebase using Flutter, making it more efficient and user-friendly than ever before. SlimSocial still retains its original values of lightweight design and privacy, while introducing new features, such as the ability to hide ads and a better user interface.

Building
cd SlimSocial_for_Facebook
flutter pub get
flutter build apk
That is the Google Play build. For the free-software build — the one F-Droid ships, with Play Billing and the Play rating sheet compiled out — run ./scripts/fdroid_prepare.sh first. See docs/fdroid.md.
Translations
Translations are managed on Crowdin. If you want to help translate SlimSocial into your language (or improve an existing translation), just join the project there — no coding required.
Please don't edit the JSON files in SlimSocial_for_Facebook/assets/lang/ directly: they are synced automatically from Crowdin, so manual changes would be overwritten. Only the English source file (en-US.json) is edited in this repository.
