Package Overview

Package selection guidance compiled from public package information, community data, and project usage.

Flutter Timetable is a Flutter package that displays schedules and time-based data in a structured, visually intuitive timetable format. It renders items from a list according to their associated dates and times, making it ideal for showing events, classes, or appointments. The package supports multiple platforms including Android, iOS, Web, macOS, Windows, and Linux, ensuring cross-platform consistency. Designed for simplicity and performance, it integrates smoothly into existing Flutter apps with minimal setup. Its clean layout enhances user experience when managing time-sensitive content.

Use cases

  • Scheduling app interfaces
  • Class timetables in education apps
  • Event planning dashboards
  • Task management with time slots
  • Daily activity trackers

Key features

  • Time-based item rendering
  • Cross-platform compatibility
  • Customizable timetable layout
  • Supports date and time grouping
  • Easy integration with lists of events

Suitable for

  • Educational applications
  • Calendar and scheduling tools
  • Productivity and task management apps
  • Event coordination platforms
  • Time-based data visualization

Considerations

  • Requires proper date/time formatting of input data
  • Limited customization beyond basic styling
  • Best suited for linear time ranges
  • May need additional logic for complex overlapping events
  • Not optimized for very large datasets without pagination

Timetable for Flutter

Pub Version Test status codecov

This package is a timetable for Flutter that allows developers to customize each visible UI element as needed.

Highly customizable

Every UI element display should be customizable. They are reasonable defaults, but developers should be able to override them to fit their needs. This customization is done using builder functions in the Timetable class constructor.

The Timetable class also takes a controller (TimtableController) that allows developers to manipulate the timetable using other custom functions and UI elements.

Lightweight

Intentionally avoiding dependencies makes this package lightweight, increases compatibility, and makes it easier to maintain.

Limiting the scope of this package to just the timetable widget avoids superfluous features and potential bloat. For example, instead of anticipating and building components, the TimtableController allows listeners and dispatches events, allowing developers to build more customized UI where needed.
